I just can't bring myself to post more about our trip right now. I'm fully convinced we need to sell our house, quite our jobs and move to the Dominican Republic. Coming back to the real world is hard and jumping back into things after this vacation has been very difficult. We usually give our selves a buffer day to recoup, but I really gave myself no time this year. I have officially learned my lesson.
Last night I, as I was trying to get back to normal, I had some time to kill before an appointment after work. I left work late on purpose to get there without too much extra time. The commute was way easier than I expected and I ended up 40 minutes early. If I proceeded home, I just would have had to turn around and come right back, so I accidentally stopped in to World Market.
World Market recently just opened two stores in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area in the past year after closing all of their locations during our little economic downturn... It was one of and still is one of my absolute favorite stores and I am so excited to have it back.
While I was wasting some time... I knew that there was at least one thing I wanted to grab while I was there, but then I spotted this...
It's definitely not the real deal... Jax Bookends. And it is small at about 4.5", but it's $6.99. They had exactly two left. I only bought one. What is wrong with me? Luckily, Bill works just down the street... So, I convinced him that he should go there over his lunch break, which I'm pretty sure he does frequently to browse their aisle of sweets and strange nuts...
I've been checking out the reproduction jacks on esty.com lately and I just could never bring myself to spend the money on them. I was also never so sure on the sizes
Word Market has these ones labeled as Cast Iron Jack Doorstops and they are available online if you don't have a World Market in their area. Bonus: sign up for their perks program. I get 25% off coupons at least twice a month and their always offering other deals through that.
I'm not 100% sure where these will live. I'm also thinking about spray painting.... I'm just not sure yet. I think that the living room needs to move a little bit more along before I can decide for sure. I just really wanted to share what I thought was an awesome little find.
