Painting has started...

The paint has been purchased. I started cutting in and went ahead and painted a medium sized section before I (or rather, we) committed the whole room and the adjoining "hallway" to it. I'm torn at this point. I think it might be too light. And I think it might have a tiny bit too much blue in it. Not exactly what I was looking for but I think I can make it work. Bill says to just go for it...

It's a huge change and I think the problem might just be that the room was significantly darker than before.

Repainting the living room and "hallway" (in quotes because the widest chunk of wall is maybe 14" and it's just an area full of doors) is giving me a chance to patch some stuff up...

From redoing the bathroom, well really just putting trim back in, we somehow managed to push out the trim on the outside of the bathroom. In some spots the paint essentially chipped off. Those chips stayed attached to the door trim, but there were huge cracks. So, I ripped them off (really snapped them off). After I filled them in a couple times with some stuff I found in our basement (don't worry, it's for walls), wall putty I'm guessing. I still need to sand and re-assess, possibly adding some more putty.

There was some seriously funky wallpaper (?) behind that paint. I'm almost wishing someone hadn't painted over it. This is wallpaper print number two we've discovered so far and I'm sure there is more.

Anyways, here are some shots of the wall section that is done...

Side note: seriously contemplating painting that owl... maybe white. Or turquoise.

It definitely needs some art work, but I think I'm going to keep going with it and hope it all turns out nicely...

And just an obligatory cute Behr the Corgi picture because he was frequently in the way while taking photos. And because his name is Behr... and that happens to be Behr paint on the walls. Fancy stuff.
