Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, Part 1.

On Labor Day, we spent the afternoon out at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. It might be one of my favorite places to go and just walk around. It was a gorgeous day out.

The Arboretum has an "exhibit" every year, this year it is Steelroots: Touching Earth & Sky. It's essentially large scaled, simplified root systems created out of bronze, steel, etc. There are quite a few of them and they're located all over ranging from huge in open areas to dog sized ones nestled in with plants.

This is the first Steelroots sculpture as you come through the entrance gate.

Besides the new "exhibit," they also have this great hut type building right inside the entrance.

We started off in the usual Terrace Garden area... It always just seems like the most logical place.

And more to come tomorrow in part 2...
